About OpalLMS
Built inside a training business
OpalLMS started inside a heavy equipment training business, because the software it needed did not exist. Today it runs operator training, a construction equipment operator school and continuing education for healthcare practitioners.
Why we built it
Our sibling company, Equipment Tutor, trains equipment operators. For years it ran on a stack of separate tools: one for courses, one for scheduling, one for certificates, and a checkout that talked to none of them.
Operators slipped through the gaps. Certificates expired without anyone being reminded. Partner schools asked for their own branded sites, and there was no way to give them one.
So we built the platform the business needed: able to run many organizations from the start, aware of compliance, and able to sell training as well as deliver it. The same platform now runs Equipment Tutor and its partner schools, O’Brien Training and Still Point Academy.
How we build
Records are permanent
Completions, certificates and evaluations are history. A later change never rewrites what already happened.

If a difference between two organizations can be a setting, it becomes a setting, so every customer gets the benefit.
Built with real training organizations
Programs, competency and daily records were designed with a working operator school, from its own forms and routines.
Every role matters
An instructor on a shop floor and an administrator in an office need different screens. We build both.
